Mgahinga is part of the prominent Virunga Mountains that supports gorillas and golden monkeys. It borders Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. It is not only home to the gorilla but also the endemic habituated golden monkeys, known to feed on the bamboo vegetation in this small sized park.

Explore Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage site to meet one of the world’s most endangered species: the mountain gorilla. These iconic giants are residents in the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Guests on this amazing trip will encounter vibrant and varied wildlife as they hike through the tropical forests with experienced ranger guides.

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda
Depending on your arrival time, you will go for a natural walk at botanical gardens. Stay at Hotel No.5

Day 2: Fly to Kihihi to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Domestic flight from Entebbe to either Kihihi Airstrip , the nearest airstrip to the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your chosen lodge in the Bwindi region, where you’ll have the afternoon to relax and acclimatize to the breathtaking surroundings.

Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla tracking – a lifetime experience
Have an early morning breakfast and then go for a briefing by wildlife rangers at the Park headquarters. Proceed to the Impenetrable Forest for gorilla tracking. Carry packed Lunch. You should be equipped with jungle boots since tracking involves walking up steep, densely forested hills before finally coming across the endangered gorillas in the dense tropical vegetation, their favourite habitat. After lunch go for a community visit to the local communities living around the park to learn about their history.

Day 4 Second Gorilla Tracking optional
Today offers you the choice to embark on a second gorilla trek, providing you with another opportunity to encounter different gorilla families within Bwindi’s diverse ecosystem. Alternatively, you can opt for various optional activities such as nature walks, bird watching, or engaging with the local community, immersing yourself further in the beauty and culture of Uganda.

Tonight, you’ll spend another tranquil evening at your lodge, surrounded by the enchanting sights and sounds of the Bwindi region.

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking
Today after breakfast go for golden monkey tracking at Mgahinga National Park. This park was gazetted in 1991.It gets its name from the local word Gahinga meaning a “pile of stones”. Dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Hotel or equivalent

Day 6: End of tour. Fly back to Entebbe
